Yes, Layla was stumped, this morning, by the impenetrable barrier made up of a door left ajar. Not once, during several (and I mean at least 10 or more) minutes of pining, moaning, growling (she's quite a talker), not to mention pawing at the space that was already there did Layla take the ordinary course of action recognised by nearly every pet-owner and parent out there: push on the door! She didn't lean on the door, hell, she didn't even accidently bump it. Just pawed the gap, and sat there.
Which is to say she entertained us greatly at 8am this morning. She did end up getting in, but not before we lost all respect for her as a force in nature (and that is already after the fact that she's a Shih-Tzu.
Layla is a crybaby.
She also still seems to be looking for something that isn't here. Her owners, as many toys as they did bring (and, for one dog, this is many), left one behind, and she wants it. Oh well.
Olivia, bring that toy with you when you get back. Layla'll be doubly-ecstatic to see you.
