This morning's walk was music'd perfectly. I felt exactly like listening to Sufjan Stevens, and that's exactly what I had on my ipod. Most pleasing. We tried a new park (for me, not - I imagine - for Layla).
You'll notice that I'm getting much better at re-balancing the colours. That's Morningside Park:
It's vaguely reminiscent of the park on Union Terrace in Aberdeen - which is not intended, in anyway, to be the compliment that it sounds. The resemblance starts and stops with the mere fact that it's below a road and tiered downwards.
Aberdeen:
Morningside:
It's a decent size, but the words rack and ruin spring to mind:
Their version of rubbish bins an excellent case in point:
Of which there are very few anyway. Which explained why the park is characterised by so little scooping of poop. The park was not without its interest, though.
Such as this remainder of someone's property being relieved of the device that was supposed to keep it their property (new lock, too - but I wonder what it was attached to).
The park also offered its version of a nature walk
Although this was the view, muting the effect somewhat (make sure you click on this one - clicking opens up the full-sized image).
There were flowers
although they're decorating, of all things, a utility box.
We had a little difficulty leaving the park. Layla took some convincing that we needed to bear right (for the benefit of those not Lucas or Olivia: the apartment of Lucas and Olivia is about a block to the left; we are about a block to the right).
They'd also been mowing in Morningside - Layla returned home with green legs!
Return on investment? Bath.
Foot-bath only, this time. Just enough to clean off her legs. She also suffered this in wonderful form. I was able to comb her somewhat, as well as use Sonja's blow-dryer. I believe she's settling in nicely (6 days from the return of her owners, but nevertheless). She's sleeping off the rigours of the morning, somewhere. She's less inclined to hide out under the couch over the last few days.
