Day One

A few things are learned:
  • Layla seems to like Louis the most. She'll be disappointed no end when he leaves today and does not return.
  • She prefers to sleep on my side of the bed.
  • When Sonja wakes up at 6am so does Layla. Or she thinks she does. She kind of just wants to be up, but doesn't know what to do. We went for an early walk today. A very early walk.
More things are learned. One, if it weren't for the collar, half the time, one would not know which end of Layla is which. She kind of walks like a vacuum cleaner:

Further things learned:
  • Layla seems to believe she is taking me for a walk, rather than the other way around. I blame her actual owners for this.
  • She does, however, quickly learn that her 'immobility' move is powerless against someone willing to pick her up and move her 5 feet.
  • She has big-dog envy. Serious big-dog envy. She'll sit and watch them all day, I think. Much as she'd like to run and play with them, most of the time, they just don't care.

Now for some more sniffing around the apartment and trying to work out just what is likely to be behind those suitcases in the bedroom. Or wait 'til we're all gone and jump all over the couches and bed. That will teach us.
